Tyre & Mechanical Assistant – Value Vacancies

Purpose of the Job
Provide support with mechanical repairs, vehicle services, and tyre maintenance. Conduct tyre inspections and implement corrective actions, attend to roadside breakdowns, and ensure vehicles are clean before leaving the depot.

Key Responsibilities

Tyre Duties

• Strip and fit tyres efficiently.
• Maintain correct tyre pressures.
• Conduct tyre surveys and replace worn or smooth tyres.
• Complete tyre change slips accurately.
• Ensure wheel nuts are torqued correctly.
• Maintain and manage tyre stock.
• Attend to mechanical and tyre breakdowns at the depot or on-site.
• Keep workshop and tyre bay tools clean and organised.

Mechanical & Workshop Assistance

• Assist with mechanical repairs, servicing, and maintenance.
• Support all workshop functions and operations as required.
• Complete job card service schedules and parts listings.
• Assist in controlling spare parts and tyre inventory.
• Maintain housekeeping in the workshop, parts store, tyre bay, and washbay.

Washbay & General Duties

• Ensure all vehicles are washed and cleaned to standard.
• Adhere to company dress code and SOPs.
• Maintain health, safety, and housekeeping standards consistently.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Practical experience in mechanical repairs and tyre maintenance

Skills Required

• Ability to follow basic Health and Safety procedures under supervision.
• Ability to identify hazards and respond appropriately with guidance.
