Tyre & Mechanical Assistant – Value Logistics

About the Role
The Tyre & Mechanical Assistant supports all mechanical repairs, vehicle services, and tyre maintenance. This role includes conducting tyre surveys with corrective actions, attending roadside breakdowns, and ensuring vehicles are clean and ready for operation.

Key Responsibilities

Tyre Duties

• Strip and fit tyres efficiently.
• Maintain correct tyre pressures.
• Complete tyre change slips accurately.
• Conduct tyre surveys and replace worn or damaged tyres.
• Ensure wheel nuts are properly torqued.
• Maintain tyre stock levels.
• Drive to sites to attend mechanical and tyre breakdowns.
• Clean workshop and tyre bay tools regularly.

Workshop Assistance

• Assist with mechanical repairs, routine services, maintenance, and breakdowns.
• Support all workshop functions as required.
• Complete job card service schedules and parts listing.
• Help control spare parts and tyre inventory.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the workshop, parts, tyre stores, and washbay.
• Assist with relevant operational functions as needed.

Washbay Duties

• Ensure vehicles are washed and cleaned before leaving the depot.
• Follow company dress code and safety procedures.
• Maintain daily housekeeping standards.
• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements at all times.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Experience in mechanical repairs and tyre maintenance

Skills Required

• Knowledge of basic Health and Safety procedures under supervision.
• Ability to identify hazards and follow guidance to handle them safely.
