Job Description
Tekkie Town is seeking a dedicated and motivated Supervisor to support the Store Manager in driving sales performance, managing store operations, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role focuses on maximizing profitability through effective stock management, expense control, and strong team leadership while maintaining high operational standards within the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and maximizing store profitability
- Support effective merchandise management and ensure optimal stock availability on the sales floor
- Monitor and assist with stock loss prevention and ensure compliance with company policies
- Provide support with financial processes and ensure proper execution of store budgets and cost controls
- Assist with store administration and operational management tasks
- Support internal information flow and reporting within the store environment
- Ensure proper stock holding practices and adherence to company procedures
- Provide support with human resource functions including team coordination and performance support
- Maintain high standards of merchandising, housekeeping, and overall store presentation
- Ensure accurate and efficient operation of tills and cash handling procedures
- Assist in maintaining stockroom layout and ensure receiving procedures are followed correctly
- Lead by example on the sales floor while supporting team productivity and service excellence
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Three to five years’ retail experience as a Shop Assistant
- Computer literacy
- Strong communication skills
- Additional qualifications in retail or business management will be advantageous
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Accurate and efficient till operation skills
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of work, quality, and housekeeping on the sales floor
- Ability to take initiative and complete tasks proactively
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record
- Strong understanding of visual merchandising strategy including stock intensity and SKU availability
- Good planning, delegation, and team leadership skills
- High level of personal integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Willingness to work retail trading hours
- Good understanding of stock receiving procedures and stockroom organization standards
