SUPERVISOR – SEA HARVEST VACANCIES
ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified, experienced, and energetic Supervisor to join Sea Harvest Group in the Fresh Fish Operations Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production plant to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operations while consistently achieving production targets, quality standards, and customer expectations.

POSITION: Supervisor
REPORTING TO: FFO Superintendent
PURPOSE: To ensure the efficient operation of the production plant, maximize performance, maintain safety standards, and consistently meet quality and productivity targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Team Management
- Guide, direct, and supervise teams in alignment with overall company objectives.
- Monitor and manage absenteeism, conduct counselling sessions, and arrange referrals where necessary.
- Ensure staff competencies are maintained and support skills development initiatives.
- Take appropriate disciplinary action when required, complete incident reports, and follow up on investigations.
- Provide guidance and counselling to address performance-related concerns.
Production Management
- Monitor yield, labour efficiency, and overall line performance.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within required deadlines and quality specifications.
- Manage downtime effectively and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee FIFO principles and maintain full product traceability.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and customer requirements.
Health, Safety, and Housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and workplace cleanliness.
- Monitor employee workplace hygiene practices.
- Arrange corrective training for product non-conformance where necessary.
Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within production processes.
- Support and maintain systems that promote efficiency, innovation, safety, and continuous learning.
- Drive production improvement initiatives to enhance overall plant performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Relevant NQF Level 6 qualification preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant production experience.
- Sound knowledge of quality management systems and health and safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of processing and production operations.
