Role Purpose
PepsiCo Vacancies is seeking a Supervisor Production to oversee and coordinate production activities, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and achievement of production targets. The Supervisor Production leads production teams, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Production Management

  • Supervise production activities to ensure completion according to the production plan.
  • Schedule work assignments, set priorities, and direct the work of production team members.
  • Monitor production performance, quality, and efficiency, proposing improvement projects where required.
  • Resolve operational issues in individual production sections promptly.
  • Participate in the development and introduction of new products on the production line.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Set annual business and performance objectives for team members and conduct formal performance evaluations twice per year.
  • Identify training and development needs and coordinate with managers and HR to address them.
  • Ensure the production team is properly staffed, trained, and follows personnel guidelines.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members to enhance skills and performance.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with quality specifications, HACCP, internal food safety, and personnel safety procedures.
  • Cooperate with the Quality & Environment Department to maintain production standards.
  • Supervise implementation of maintenance and repair programs, collaborating with the Maintenance Manager for timely resolution of equipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and ensure proper documentation of production activities.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Participate in daily shift meetings and maintain close communication with other Supervisors and Line Managers.
  • Track KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fill SAP backflush data reports and utilize systems to monitor and report on production performance.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align operational priorities, ensure smooth workflow, and meet production deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience
Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate (minimum)
  • Tertiary qualification in Process or Production Technology preferred

Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a production environment, including process technology, production planning, or coordination
  • Proven experience in supervising and managing people

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively across functions
  • Flexibility to rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Strong resilience and adaptability under high-pressure conditions
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Word, Excel, and SAP
  • Certified or trained to perform all aspects of applicable production roles
  • Ability to facilitate training, coach staff, and evaluate on-the-job performance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop relationships with operational partners
  • Understanding and use of KPI scorecards for performance monitoring and improvement
