Main Job Purpose
The Stock Controller is responsible for ensuring the timely supply of essential health products and other inventory items. This role also coordinates the maintenance of healthcare equipment in compliance with regulatory standards and organisational requirements.
Role Deliverables
Psychosocial Programs and Support
- Assist the delegated Professional Nurse in managing health products within scope of practice.
- Order, receive, store, and issue stock to maintain optimal availability.
- Coordinate maintenance of healthcare equipment.
- Ensure stock and equipment management meets funder requirements.
- Manage medical waste effectively.
- Compile and submit accurate reports.
- Perform duties in line with quality patient care, adhering to SANC regulations, relevant legislation, and Life Healthcare policies.
- Maintain health, safety, and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment.
- Ensure effective use of resources and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and support patient education.
- Build effective relationships with patients, doctors, and medical personnel to promote quality care.
Project Support Work
- Complete delegated administrative tasks efficiently.
- Maintain professional conduct at all times.
- Foster strong relationships with health facilities and MSM/TG implementation teams.
Human Capital Management
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
- Adhere to relevant legislation, Codes of Conduct, and SOPs.
- Identify personal developmental needs and implement approved recommendations.
- Follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures in line with legislation.
- Report unsafe activities to Senior Management or Human Resources and comply with decision-making procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Registration with SANC.
- Matric Certificate.
- 3–5 years’ work experience in government and/or NPO sectors.
- Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land or air if required.
- Valid driver’s license and own car.
- Basic computer literacy; proficient in email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
- South African citizen or valid work permit.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays.
Advantageous
- Qualification in Microsoft Office: Word & Excel.
- Fluency in English and local languages.
- Qualification in procurement and stock management.
