Purpose of the Job
Value Logistics is seeking a skilled Spray Painter responsible for coordinating workflow, quality control, and safety within the spray-painting and flatting sections of the workshop. The role includes supervising repair and refinishing tasks, guiding team members, ensuring proper use of tools and materials, and maintaining compliance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Job Card and Work Execution

• Review and interpret job cards, quotations, and work instructions to clearly understand required tasks
• Monitor progress during the repair process to ensure work is performed accurately and meets customer expectations
• Ensure all tasks are completed within required timeframes and according to manufacturer standards and specifications

Quality Control and Compliance

• Ensure correct procedures and materials are used for every job
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain a high level of workmanship throughout all repair stages
• Blend paint accurately and operate the paint mixing system with precision
• Match and blend colours effectively to achieve high-quality repair finishes

Equipment, Tools and Spray Booth Maintenance

• Operate, clean, and maintain the spray booth and related equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Ensure all panelshop tools and equipment remain in good working condition through regular cleaning and maintenance
• Identify equipment issues and report them promptly for repair or replacement

Housekeeping, Safety and Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment according to company housekeeping standards
• Follow and enforce all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe workplace
• Comply with company Standard Operating Procedures, including safety gear and professional dress requirements

General Operational Support

• Provide support to other workshop operations when required
• Maintain professional conduct and contribute to a productive and high-performance work environment

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Trade Certificate in Spray Painting
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a panelshop environment performing spray painting duties

Skills Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of spray painting, colour matching, and panel repair
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and accurate colour blending
• Effective time management skills to handle multiple job cards and meet workshop deadlines
• Problem-solving ability to identify defects and implement corrective solutions
• Skilled in operating and maintaining spray booths, paint mixing systems, and panelshop equipment
• Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks with team members and other departments
