Job Overview
Truworths Careers is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to join the Risk and Analytics division. This role focuses on leveraging large volumes of data and business intelligence to develop customer-focused strategies that drive profitability while operating within defined business and risk constraints. The successful candidate will play a strategic leadership role in improving company performance through advanced analytics, reporting, and the implementation of high-impact business solutions.

Role Purpose
As a Senior Manager, you will lead analytical strategy development, oversee the design and execution of credit and loyalty optimisation initiatives, and guide teams in delivering data-driven insights that support business growth and Board-level objectives.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop a team of analysts responsible for designing, building, and tracking credit and loyalty optimisation strategies
• Drive profit growth through data-driven strategies aligned with Board-approved constraints
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify strategic opportunities and test innovative ideas
• Develop and manage testing frameworks to evaluate strategy performance and support business rollout decisions
• Present new strategies, expected outcomes, and testing approaches to senior executive leadership and Board stakeholders
• Support implementation of strategic changes into live operational systems
• Oversee coding and technical execution within a retail analytics environment

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor of Business Science, Commerce, or equivalent qualification preferred
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in retail credit, ideally within store card portfolios
• Proven hands-on experience developing predictive models such as credit scorecards, marketing response models, propensity models, or machine learning models
• Strong experience working with analytics programming languages such as SAS, Python, or R
• Demonstrated experience applying predictive models to optimise cost-to-revenue balance and drive profitability
• Experience managing strategy implementation projects within live production environments
• Retail coding experience is advantageous
• Mathematical optimisation experience is highly beneficial
