Role Purpose
The Sanlam Financial Adviser provides professional, relevant financial advice and solutions to new and existing clients. The role focuses on building sustainable, high-quality business, maintaining long-term client relationships, and delivering ongoing advice and sales in a compliant, ethical manner that strengthens the Sanlam brand.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth and Sales Performance
- Execute marketing plans and achieve business growth targets aligned with the distribution strategy.
- Apply market segmentation and client profiling to support sales growth within the defined market.
- Achieve targets related to revenue generation, recurring premiums, and activity levels.
- Promote the Sanlam brand while ensuring fair treatment of customers.
- Align business goals with personal career aspirations.
Networking, Prospecting, and Lead Generation
- Generate business opportunities through face-to-face engagements, networking, and social interactions.
- Prospect new clients via business networks, associations, and presentations.
- Convert trusted relationships into long-term business relationships.
- Strengthen existing client relationships through enhanced service offerings.
- Leverage internal Sanlam networks to identify cross-business opportunities.
- Develop personalised client value propositions.
- Use social media and targeted client activities to generate leads.
- Identify sales opportunities within the existing client base.
- Design and implement focused campaigns within the target market.
- Actively request referrals and monitor client activities such as maturities and policy changes.
Client Consultations and Financial Advice
- Conduct compliant client engagements, ensuring all required disclosures are provided.
- Perform comprehensive fact-finding to understand client needs and priorities.
- Complete financial needs analyses using approved tools and systems.
- Provide sound, professional financial planning advice aligned with client objectives.
- Design balanced financial plans and present suitable solutions in line with Treating Customers Fairly principles.
- Maintain accurate client records and conduct annual portfolio reviews.
Client Service and Relationship Management
- Deliver ethical, professional, and courteous client service at all times.
- Follow up on client queries and ensure timely resolution through appropriate support channels.
- Provide value-added service to build loyalty and prevent client attrition.
- Commit to continuous learning to remain current with industry, market, and product developments.
- Build and maintain long-term, trust-based client relationships.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Record and report on weekly and monthly activities, including client interactions and consultations.
- Track issued business and revenue against targets.
- Update client records and maintain accurate workflow and activity logs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12.
- FAIS Fit and Proper requirements met.
- Regulatory Examinations completed for advisers registered with the FSCA for more than 24 months.
