Role Overview
As a Sanlam Financial Adviser, you will provide professional financial advice, planning, and tailored products to new and existing clients. You will focus on building sustainable, high-quality business in line with targets, maintaining long-term client relationships, and acting in a compliant and ethical manner to strengthen the Sanlam brand and business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grow the Sanlam Adviser Business
- Implement marketing plans and achieve business development targets.
- Apply knowledge of market segmentation and client profiles to support sales growth.
- Meet revenue, activity, and brand promotion targets while ensuring fair treatment of clients.
2. Networking, Prospecting, and Lead Generation
- Engage with potential clients through face-to-face interactions, business networks, social connections, and presentations.
- Transform trusted relationships into business opportunities and expand existing client relationships.
- Identify marketing gaps and sales opportunities within the middle-high and affluent markets.
- Conduct focused campaigns and use social media to generate leads.
- Monitor client activities, including policy maturities, cancellations, and surrenders, to create new opportunities.
3. Client Consultations and Sales
- Conduct comprehensive fact-finding and financial needs analysis using appropriate tools or Para-Planner support.
- Provide professional financial planning advice and create balanced portfolio solutions tailored to client needs.
- Ensure all interactions comply with regulatory requirements and are aligned with Treating Customers Fairly principles.
- Capture and update client information accurately and review portfolios annually.
4. Client Service
- Deliver professional, ethical, and courteous service in all client interactions.
- Address client queries promptly or escalate as required.
- Provide value-added service to retain clients and prevent loss to competitors.
- Maintain long-term relationships and stay up-to-date on industry knowledge, skills, and market trends.
5. Monitoring, Updates, and Reporting
- Record and report contacts, consultations, and appointments.
- Track issued business and revenue against targets.
- Update client records and system entries accurately.
- Submit regular activity reports as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) “Fit and Proper” requirements
- Regulatory Examination successfully completed if registered with FSCA for more than 24 months
