Value Vacancies – Sales Representative
Sales Representative – Purpose of the Role
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value services, with a strong focus on Value Truck Rental while actively cross-selling the full service offering, including Value Logistics, Linehaul, Value Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express solutions. The role drives revenue growth by understanding customer needs, building long-term relationships, and delivering tailored transport and logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Sales Management
- Analyse customer transport, distribution, and expenditure data to identify sales opportunities
- Evaluate potential spend and apply appropriate focus factors to prioritise accounts
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitor activity within the assigned territory
- Build trusted relationships and establish long-term customer partnerships
- Identify customer service requirements and provide accurate quotations for suitable Value services
- Grow the existing customer base by understanding client operations and cross-selling Value solutions
- Negotiate and close sales opportunities in line with targets and budgets
- Develop and manage national account relationships
- Maintain a thorough understanding of customer contracts and agreements
- Ensure services delivered remain relevant to evolving customer requirements
- Gain a deep understanding of customer operations to drive sustainable growth
- Add value to every customer interaction through clear objectives and outcomes
- Maintain required service levels in line with Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain high-frequency engagement with key decision-makers and influencers
- Keep product and service knowledge current at all times
- Identify and resolve customer queries promptly, including invoices, claims, and proof of delivery
- Represent the company professionally and positively at all times
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Submit all sales and activity reports accurately and within required timeframes
- Contribute positively to team performance and collaboration
- Achieve sales budgets, revenue targets, and performance goals set by management
- Support additional duties aligned with organisational objectives as required
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Proven experience in a sales environment
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to apply a range of sales techniques appropriate to different customer scenarios
- Strong capability to identify and assess customer needs within the assigned area
- Effective time management and planning skills
- Strong customer relationship management abilities
- Sound understanding of risk management principles
- Ability to independently assess and accept risk outcomes
