About the Role
Value Logistics is seeking a dynamic and target-driven Sales Representative to identify, recruit, grow, and retain key customers within the Free State region. This role focuses on servicing a diverse customer base ranging from spaza shops to forecourts and wholesalers, building strategic partnerships, driving sales and margin growth, and effectively managing debtors within the portfolio.
The Sales Representative will play a critical role in expanding market presence, increasing profitability, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition & Growth
- Identify and recruit new customers within the assigned region, achieving monthly and quarterly acquisition targets
- Maintain and grow the existing customer base to meet or exceed sales volume and margin objectives
- Conduct regular customer visits, including order-taking and introducing new product lines
- Execute structured route planning to maximise coverage and efficiency
Relationship Management & Service Excellence
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent engagement
- Monitor and report customer feedback to management to support continuous improvement
- Deliver high levels of customer service and resolve queries within agreed turnaround times
Credit & Debtor Management
- Manage customer credit accounts to ensure debtor days remain within agreed limits
- Achieve on-time payment targets and proactively address outstanding balances
Strategy Execution & Reporting
- Implement business strategies, including marketing campaigns and promotional activities
- Track and report performance against campaign objectives
- Submit accurate and timely sales and activity reports
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales role within the FMCG sector
- Proven track record as a successful Sales Representative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively
- Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office, and mobile sales tools
