About the Role

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for driving store sales through direct customer interaction, preparing accurate quotations from building plans, and ensuring high standards of merchandising, housekeeping, and delivery efficiency. This role ensures excellent customer service while supporting operational and sales objectives.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with 5 years of relevant experience, or 10 years’ work experience
  • Experience in reading building plans is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills in English and the dominant local language
  • Above-average numeric skills
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong organizational, planning, and delegation skills

Key Performance Areas

Sales

  • Prepare and follow up on quotations to generate sales
  • Manage the quote process and special order control
  • Review building plans to ensure accurate quotations within agreed timelines
  • Handle telephone calls, return calls, and follow up with customers
  • Conduct competitor analysis to maintain store competitiveness
  • Communicate bulk deposit transfers to customers
  • Promote loyalty programs, including VIC and Charge Card initiatives

Deliveries

  • Manage a cost-effective and efficient delivery service
  • Ensure all deliveries are dispatched on time
  • Communicate delays to customers and make suitable arrangements

Customer Service

  • Manage the Customer Service Desk efficiently
  • Record, follow up, and resolve customer complaints
  • Ensure all customers are attended to promptly
  • Maintain professional telephone etiquette

Store Standards

  • Oversee Ready for Business checklists and processes for assigned area and team members
  • Implement price changes according to advertised promotions
  • Ensure proper implementation of planograms

People Management

  • Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers are present and performing duties
  • Maintain trained backups for all staff members
  • Monitor execution of daily responsibilities, including Ready for Business procedures

Safety (OHSA) Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards within the store
  • Confirm employees wear appropriate protective clothing and use equipment safely

Security Awareness

  • Monitor for suspicious activity in and around the store
  • Maintain password security and safeguard operational procedures
