Role Purpose
The Retail Branch Manager is responsible for driving branch growth, increasing market share, and enhancing revenue through the development and execution of a robust retail branch strategy. This role leads and aligns Sales Consultants to achieve performance targets while fostering a strong service culture that delivers an exceptional client experience.
The Retail Branch Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensures compliance and risk management, and builds strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Strategy and Sales Leadership
- Develop and implement the retail branch strategy and business plan
- Drive sales performance and revenue growth in line with business objectives
- Guide, align, and standardise the activities of Sales Consultants
- Monitor sales targets and ensure consistent achievement of performance goals
- Establish and embed a strong service-driven culture within the branch
Client Experience and Service Delivery
- Lead a client-focused ecosystem within and outside the branch
- Ensure optimal service standards and customer engagement
- Strengthen relationships with clients to improve retention and loyalty
Operations and Compliance Management
- Oversee daily branch operations and ensure operational efficiency
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and risk management frameworks
- Maintain compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and industry regulations
People Management and Development
- Manage all operational people practices for direct reports in collaboration with HR
- Oversee talent management, performance management, and employee development
- Address grievances, manage leave allocation, and optimise team capacity
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing branch team
Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders including Area Managers, Business Owners, activation sites, and community forums
- Develop and implement engagement strategies to strengthen partnerships
- Represent the branch in community and business forums to enhance brand presence
Planning and Reporting
- Conduct monthly sales and service planning
- Compile and submit accurate reports on branch performance
- Utilise data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve results
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- RE1 and RE5 qualifications
- 120 Wealth Management credits or an FSCA-recognised tertiary qualification
- Class of Business accreditation (annual)
- Compliance with CPD requirements (current and past cycles)
- Minimum 5 years’ recent industry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Service management experience
