Role Overview
The Receiving Manager is responsible for the accurate receipt of all store deliveries and the dispatch of returns to vendors, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and procedures. This role plays a critical part in minimising shrinkage risk at receiving areas, maintaining cold chain integrity, and managing all administrative functions related to receiving operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a receiving role within a retail or warehouse environment.
- Willingness to work long and flexible hours.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work in open receiving areas and in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Dispatch Operations
- Receive and return goods accurately and systematically in line with company policies and procedures.
- Verify deliveries against documentation and conduct quality checks on all incoming stock.
- Manage the dispatch of returns to vendors according to approved processes.
Cold Chain, Hygiene & Safety
- Ensure cold chain standards are maintained at all times.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working practices in receiving areas.
- Operate all equipment in accordance with prescribed safety and operational standards.
Shrinkage & Security Control
- Enforce security procedures at receiving doors to minimise shrinkage risks.
- Assist with back-door security processes and controls.
- Prevent wastage, damages, and stock losses through effective controls.
Administration & Communication
- Complete all required receiving documentation and administrative tasks accurately and timeously.
- Manage receiving-related records, including those linked to visitors and merchandisers.
- Communicate effectively with staff, management, customers, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
