About the Role
Value Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Parts Administrator to manage inventory control, ensure the timely picking and issuing of parts, and maintain accurate stock records within the workshop environment. This role plays a vital part in supporting workshop productivity by ensuring that required parts are available for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
The Parts Administrator will be responsible for stock tracking, supplier coordination, backorder management, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Pick and issue parts in line with approved job cards
- Update and distribute the backorder report to the Parts Manager
- Record and report daily stock-outs to ensure timely replenishment
- Ensure all pre-booked parts are picked and purchased prior to scheduled vehicle maintenance
- Raise purchase orders for non-stock or buy-out items as indicated on job cards
- Follow up with suppliers regarding deliveries and collections
- Ensure prompt issuing of received stock against workshop job cards
- Conduct accurate cycle counts and participate in stock takes
- Monitor and track stock movements and transfers
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and report to the Parts Manager for review
- Track and process credit returns accurately
- Perform additional duties within the Parts Department as required
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times
- Adhere to company housekeeping standards and procedures
Health & Safety Compliance
- Follow all Value Logistics Health and Safety procedures consistently
General Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interacting with colleagues and customers
- Work independently with initiative and efficiency to complete assigned tasks
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 2–5 years’ experience in a parts administration or inventory-related role
- Computer literate
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant practical experience within a workshop or parts environment
