Purpose of the Job
Value Logistics is looking for a detail-oriented Parts Administrator to manage inventory, ensure timely picking and issuing of parts, track stock levels, and support workshop operations. The role includes updating backorders, liaising with suppliers, conducting stock counts, identifying slow-moving or obsolete stock, and maintaining accurate records. The Parts Administrator ensures that the workshop has all necessary parts for scheduled maintenance while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
- Pick and issue parts according to job cards
- Update backorder reports and communicate with the Parts Manager
- Record and report daily stock-outs, ensuring timely replenishment
- Ensure pre-booked parts are picked and purchased before vehicle maintenance
- Raise purchase orders for non-stock or buy-out items as required
- Follow up with suppliers on all deliveries and collections
- Ensure received stock is promptly issued to the workshop
- Conduct accurate stock counts during cycle counts and full stock takes
- Track stock movements and ensure all transfers are completed and monitored
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and notify the Parts Manager for deletion
- Process credit returns accurately and promptly
- Perform other tasks as required within the Parts Department
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Follow Value Logistics housekeeping procedures to ensure a tidy environment
Health and Safety
- Adhere to Value Health and Safety procedures and requirements at all times
General
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and work effectively with customers and colleagues
- Work independently and use initiative to complete tasks efficiently
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 2–5 years of experience in parts administration
- Computer literate
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant hands-on experience in a workshop or parts environment
