Packaging Team Leader – SAB Vacancies

Job Purpose
The Packaging Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing the packaging team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role oversees compliance with safety standards, operational routines, and production schedules while driving continuous improvement and team development.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all team members during the shift
• Manage PPE compliance and enforce safety practices, including PTW, LOTO, and SAM
• Accountable for all process checks to be conducted at prescribed frequencies
• Monitor operator compliance and ensure quality packaged products are delivered to the warehouse
• Solve issues for out-of-control processes and escalate major concerns to the Performance & Continuous Improvement Manager and Packaging Manager
• Verify adherence to daily routines as per the Agenda of Routine
• Execute the daily production schedule, including changeovers, cleaning, lubrication, and autonomous maintenance inspections and fixes
• Operate line equipment when required and provide hands-on support on the shop floor
• Train team members and check the execution of operational standards
• Complete end-of-shift reporting to enable effective shift handover
• Ensure QFR, 5 Why, and Abnormality reports are completed according to triggers
• Facilitate planned training and manage hourly employees’ work hours
• Support team development through TNA planning and coaching

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Instrumentation disciplines
• Completed Packaging Traineeship, AB InBev Learnership, or Artisan Training
• 3–5 years’ experience in factory production with demonstrated shift production expertise
• Proven track record of high performance, disciplined work ethic, and passion for problem solving and continuous improvement
