Job Description

Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple client sites to ensure efficient security operations, compliance with contractual obligations, and exceptional service delivery. This role involves managing staff, client relationships, HR and IR matters, fleet management, expenses control, investigations, and operational reporting. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Area Manager and ensures that all security personnel meet required performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Service Management

  • Maintain strong and professional relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction with security services.
  • Manage allocated client areas to ensure all contractual requirements are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of security officers on site and ensure adherence to client requirements.
  • Regularly assess service levels and provide recommendations for improvement.

Operational Leadership

  • General management and supervision of security staff to ensure high performance standards.
  • Liaise daily with management and regional offices regarding operational matters.
  • Oversee site-specific operational planning and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all HR-related queries are addressed promptly, including disciplinary actions and staff management.
  • Conduct investigations and report findings on incidents as required.
  • Ensure timely submission of weekly, monthly, and incident reports to clients and management.

Compliance and Administration

  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Maintain accurate administration of operational activities and staff records.
  • Monitor fleet operations and expenses to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • PSIRA Grade A registration.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable personal transport.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the security industry, with a minimum of 5 years in operational security management.
  • Strong knowledge of the Firearms Act and competency with firearms for business purposes.
  • Proven staff management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • No criminal record or pending cases.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and estates management experience.
  • Strong planning, leadership, organizational, and client liaison skills.
