About Sanlam
Sanlam Financial Markets (SFM) is the Sanlam Group business unit responsible for managing shareholder credit, market, and liquidity risks, developing balance-sheet enabled products, and optimizing Sanlam’s balance sheet to generate shareholder value. SFM works closely with the Balance Sheet Management function to enhance returns and deliver innovative financial solutions.
Role Overview
We are seeking a MUREX BUSINESS ANALYST to support our Murex (Mx.3) platform and business operations. The role involves configuring, testing, and operationalizing Murex workflows, managing interfaces, and providing expert business analysis to ensure systems meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure Mx.3 workflows, including Back Office operations, confirmations, payments, and collateral management.
- Set up MxML workflows using DataDictionary, XML, XSLT, and XLSTREE.
- Manage OSP configuration, rights, and GOM module setup (STP and portfolio rights).
- Configure MLC and support LRB reporting, Datamart, and reporting solutions.
- Operationalize system configurations and ensure successful go-live.
- Compile business specifications and execute system testing and sign-offs.
- Provide user training and handover support post-implementation.
- Liaise with users, IT technical staff, and software vendors to resolve issues.
- Implement ongoing system enhancements aligned with business requirements.
Technical Competencies & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Murex (Mx.3).
- Knowledge of Mx.3 accounting advantageous.
- Understanding of financial markets, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, SQL, and system development lifecycle.
- Advanced Excel skills.
