About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Coordinator to join CODE, a division of Pepkor Speciality. The Marketing Coordinator will ensure the successful planning, execution, and management of marketing campaigns, from concept to production. This role includes managing seasonal and monthly campaigns, direct marketing, new store openings, and other marketing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Senior Certificate or Diploma in Marketing or a Retail-related course
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 2–4 years’ experience as a coordinator or assistant in a marketing-related role within retail
- Experience with budgets, expense management, and campaign tracking across multiple channels
- Experience coordinating production for still and video shoots
- Understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and solve problems innovatively
- Commercial awareness with a merchant mindset
- Proficient in G-Suite (Google Sheets, Google Slides) or Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written English; additional official language an advantage
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the marketing department’s critical path to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to conceptualise, plan, cost, brief, and oversee seasonal/monthly shoots
- Plan, cost, brief, and execute flatlay and online/e-commerce product shoots
- Liaise with Buying teams on product selection and styling for shoots
- Coordinate merchandise samples for campaigns, ensuring timely availability and return
- Attend marketing shoots to ensure execution aligns with the concept and shot list
- Ensure campaigns are competitively priced and within budget
- Plan, cost, and implement in-store activations, collateral, and marketing initiatives for new store openings
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the merchandise calendar for proactive content planning
- Coordinate activities with third-party agencies, vendors, and suppliers for content creation, printing, and influencer management
- Build strong relationships with malls to unlock marketing opportunities
- Align with the Digital Marketing Coordinator for campaign execution on digital channels
- Manage project timelines for all marketing campaigns using productivity tools
- Provide monthly reports on marketing calendar status and critical path progress
- Handle general marketing administrative duties such as vendor creation, invoicing, budget tracking, and supplier management
