Job Description
Overall Purpose:
The Management Accountant will prepare and deliver accurate financial reports in a timely manner, manage risk effectively, act as a trusted financial partner to the business unit, and ensure compliance with all group policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget & Financial Management
- Prepare all business and group financial reports accurately and on time.
- Use financial tools to support business planning and achieve objectives.
- Identify and report discrepancies, recommending corrective actions.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to accounting principles within the business.
- Assess financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Continuously enhance the quality of financial reporting for the business unit.
Process Improvement and Efficiency
- Review key performance areas to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Challenge existing processes to ensure the sustainability of the business model.
- Update standards to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
- Recommend best practices to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify and suggest system improvements with clear benefits.
Customer Service Delivery – Corporate
- Build strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations in alignment with financial strategy.
- Identify business needs and propose improvements or implement solutions.
People Management
- Pursue personal development through performance and talent management processes.
- Seek training, feedback, and continuously improve performance.
- Uphold the group’s values and demonstrate effective leadership.
Requirements:
- CIMA qualification with 5+ years’ experience, or BCom (Honours) with 5+ years’ experience.
- Strong sense of accountability and responsibility for departmental issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively, mentor, and coach team members.
- Regularly communicate with line manager and suggest efficiency improvements.
