The Learning & Development Lead is responsible for executing the L&D strategy within the Solutions & Finance functions, delivering key learning initiatives, and enabling functional capability growth through effective training, development programs, and strategic talent interventions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implement the Global and Zone L&D strategy within the functional area
  • Maintain an accurate functional capability and skills matrix by job family or relevant designation
  • Conduct functional capability needs analysis using competency assessments and other data to identify learning opportunities
  • Make recommendations to inform the functional L&D 1-Year Plan (1YP)
  • Manage end-to-end L&D content development, ensuring stakeholder engagement
  • Maintain the functional learning catalogue and align with Leadership and Enterprise Development Leads to access leadership and enterprise programs
  • Execute the L&D pillar of Functional Excellence Programs in line with global and zone guidelines
  • Oversee training logistics and administration to ensure excellent employee experiences
  • Collaborate with Change Management on functional project-related L&D needs
  • Create and manage learning pathways for functional trainee programs
  • Present L&D data analytics to People Leads for strategic decision-making and monitor progress against the 1YP
  • Communicate L&D updates in People Committee meetings and functional townhalls
  • Manage the functional training budget in line with 1YP and ZBB guidelines
  • Partner with Global counterparts to implement global functional learning programs in the AFR region
  • Facilitate functional training sessions or train facilitators to deliver modules
  • Manage relationships with external L&D service providers
  • Ensure compliance and governance within the Zone L&D structure
  • Maintain learning records and enrollment on Workday in line with global healthcard metrics

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ relevant work experience
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Intermediate Excel skills
