Perpetual Inventory Controller

About the Program:

The Perpetual Inventory Controller is responsible for performing physical cycle stock counts, reconciling stock discrepancies, and reporting on damaged stock, incorrect pricing, and SKU issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 with 1 year work-related experience, or 2 years related experience
  • Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language
  • Literate with strong numeric skills
  • Accurate and able to work under pressure
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Key Performance Areas:

Perpetual Inventory Counts

  • Conduct daily stock counts according to the PIC Count Cycle
  • Investigate and report all variances to the Store Manager
  • Rectify negative stock quantities with Store Manager approval
  • Identify and report damaged stock
  • Assist with mini stock-takes and Wall-to-Wall Stock-take preparations
  • Perform normal PIC counts during full stock-take

Reporting

  • Report daily variances to the Store Manager and Divisional Manager
  • Report irregularities, poor pricing, damaged stock, and merchandising issues
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Divisional Manager

PIC Adjustments

  • Ensure all adjustments are accurate, verified, and signed off by Management
  • Validate and file “End of Day Reports” against PIC Adjustment Sheets
  • Report unprocessed adjustments before the end of the trading day

Filing and Administration

  • Complete, approve, and file all PIC documents daily

Ready for Business

  • Adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond My Control protocols per the CB Way

Customer Service

  • Maintain Cashbuild dress code and display name badge visibly
  • Assist customers promptly with complaints

Safety (OHSA) Requirements

  • Ensure safety compliance for staff and customers
  • Use appropriate safety equipment and clothing
  • Report safety discrepancies to the Store Manager
