Forecourt Sales Representative – Purpose of the Role

The Forecourt Sales Representative is responsible for driving and expanding sales within petrol station forecourts and convenience retail outlets. This role focuses on high-frequency service delivery, strong relationship management, and effective execution in fast-paced environments with high stock turnover, particularly within the beverage and snack categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow accounts within the forecourt and convenience retail channel
  • Manage and promote private label product ranges
  • Deliver high-frequency service to ensure optimal product availability and merchandising standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with site managers and forecourt staff
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment to prevent stock-outs
  • Execute promotional activations and ensure effective point-of-sale implementation
  • Track performance of key SKUs, especially fast-moving lines, and recommend assortment improvements
  • Provide insights into consumer buying behaviour within the forecourt environment
  • Execute planned route visits with a strong focus on forecourts and strict adherence to next-day delivery requirements
  • Support credit control processes and reconcile on-site transactions and payments
  • Compile and present detailed activity and performance reports aligned to forecourt channel dynamics

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant sales experience, with a minimum of 3 years in forecourt or convenience retail sales
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven sales performance track record over the past 12 months
