Job Overview
Truworths Careers is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Supervisor to join our Expense Creditors team. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to optimise department processes while maintaining effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Role Purpose
As a Finance Supervisor, you will oversee daily accounts payable operations, manage staff, ensure accurate invoice processing, and support the month-end close process. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, resolving supplier queries, and ensuring efficient workflow within the department.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and support Expense Creditors staff in daily operations
• Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely invoice processing
• Review and validate processed invoices
• Ensure correct GL distribution of AP transactions for accurate accounting and reporting
• Build and modify payments in Oracle Financials
• Review and monitor weekly and monthly payment runs
• Manage month-end AP close processes, ensuring tasks are completed within deadlines
• Review monthly supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Handle supplier queries and YDE designer payments
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by management
Qualifications and Experience
• Matric plus relevant Finance qualification
• 3–5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Experience within a finance retail environment is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to work within and manage a team
Key Competencies
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Oracle Financials
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle and resolve queries accurately and efficiently
• Team-oriented with strong collaborative skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines under pressure
• Self-motivated, proactive, and well-organised
• High attention to detail with a positive attitude
• Ability to multitask effectively
