About the Program
Truworths is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player who can manage multiple deadlines, solve problems efficiently, prioritise tasks, and communicate effectively with the Finance Manager, team members, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile all company bank and GL accounts within stipulated timelines and resolve or report discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures when collecting documentation from stores for queries or discrepancies.
  • Integrate new business developments, such as new stores, bank accounts, acquisitions, or tender types, into the reconciliation process.
  • Liaise with local and international banks regarding charges, cash banking, and other queries.
  • Resolve all queries within permitted timeframes and achieve departmental KPIs.
  • Provide stand-in support for the banking team during absences.
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric with solid work experience; post-matric qualifications advantageous.
  • Experience in a finance retail environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of general finance processes, including bank reconciliations, foreign currency translation, bank card queries, and resolving bank discrepancies.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Oracle Financials, Business Online, New Business Online (Africa), and relevant bank reconciliation systems.
