Role Overview – Distribution Manager
The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end distribution operations, ensuring timely product delivery, optimal fleet utilization, and high customer service standards. This role drives operational excellence, cost efficiency, and team development while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage distribution operations including products, vehicles, routes, manpower, and customer coverage
• Optimize fleet utilization to maximize efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Oversee customer service delivery, including order fulfillment, product availability, queries, and cash handling
• Manage fleet operations through DRM, ensuring effective use of drivers, vehicles, and distribution resources
• Maintain daily operational controls such as debriefing, route scheduling, master data management, and performance monitoring
• Drive on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance for all customers
• Control manpower allocation and TES headcount, ensuring efficient staffing across shifts
• Develop, mentor, and grow distribution team members, fostering high-performance behaviors
• Promote and enforce EHS principles and safe working practices across the department
• Manage driver shortages, daily reconciliations, and operational discrepancies
• Oversee equipment and warehouse assets, including crates, pallets, scales, and forklifts
• Plan and manage daily stock levels, buy-outs, and route allocations

• Distribution: 136 personnel
• Route Controllers: 3
• Drivers: 62
• Delivery Assistants: 71
• Routes: 105 (AM 43, PM 9, Sun 35, IDC 8)

Minimum Qualifications

• National Diploma in Logistics Management or related field

Experience Requirements

• 5–6 years’ experience as a Distribution Manager or in a similar leadership role
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated people management experience
• Safety management experience in distribution or logistics environments
• Proficiency with DRM and VSC systems
• Experience in fleet, crate, and logistics asset management
