Role Overview: Distribution Manager
The Distribution Manager will oversee the distribution function of a large-scale operation, managing orders, fleet, routes, and customer deliveries. This role is responsible for optimizing delivery performance, ensuring product availability, driving customer satisfaction, and leading a high-performing distribution team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage distribution of products, personnel, vehicles, routes, and customers
- Optimize fleet utilization and manage delivery performance through DRM and VSC systems
- Execute customer service delivery, including order fulfillment, product queries, and cash management
- Daily management of controls such as route scheduling, debriefings, hits, and master data
- Drive cost efficiency and ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) deliveries
- Manage manpower, TES heads, and develop team capabilities
- Foster a high-performance culture and drive TPW behaviors
- Implement and encourage EHS principles and maintain safety standards
- Manage drivers, delivery assistants, and route controllers
- Oversee team, equipment, and vehicle management, including crates, pallets, scales, and forklifts
- Conduct daily stock planning and buy-outs
- Supervise delivery across multiple routes, shifts, and regions

- Delivery Assistants: 71
- Routes: 105 (AM 43, PM 9, Sun 35, IDC 8)
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- National Diploma in Logistics Management or related field
- 5–6 years’ experience as a Distribution Manager in FMCG or similar industry
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Strong understanding of safety, fleet, and crate management
- Experience with DRM, VSC systems, and operational controls
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Energetic, results-driven, and a team player
- Effective verbal and written communication and coaching abilities
- Knowledge of employee relations and team development
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with PepsiCo manufacturing, logistics, and quality standards
