Main Job Purpose

The Data Quality Officer is responsible for validating, collating, and auditing data collected by programme teams. This role ensures data integrity and compliance with funder and Department of Health (DOH) standards. The officer maintains and prepares data for reporting to RSs, DOH, and PR, ensuring all data is accurately logged and processed.

Key Performance Areas

Data Quality Assessments

  • Accurately capture data from paper forms into the designated database following NACOSA guidelines.
  • Track and log all paper forms received using the in-house Tracking/Logging System.
  • Review paper forms for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Verify data from paper forms against the electronic database.
  • Handle and store data securely and accurately.
  • Respond to internal queries regarding data deliveries and schedules.
  • Resolve data discrepancies promptly.
  • Supervise staff responsible for data collection.
  • Verify compiled monthly statistics.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with stakeholders to support the achievement of company and departmental goals.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Represent Anova in adolescent and youth programme platforms and Technical Working Groups (TWG).

General Administration

  • Create and maintain data files and proper documentation.
  • Ensure all documents are filed in accordance with Anova’s SOPs.
  • Perform administrative duties within the data management department, including managing office supplies, handling stationery requests, and ensuring client records are accurate.

Human Capital Management

  • Contribute proactively to team efforts to meet departmental and company objectives.
  • Adhere to all data management SOPs, guidelines, and confidentiality agreements.

Company Strategic Intent

  • Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures according to legislation.
  • Report unsafe activities to Senior Management or Human Resources.
  • Maintain decision-making authority as allocated to the position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Social Sciences, Development, Health, or related discipline (IT/Data Management qualification preferred).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in data capturing and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, TB, and other diseases.
  • Understanding of key populations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in email, record keeping, database management, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
