About the Program
Truworths, South Africa’s leading fashion retailer, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with strong retail and contract management experience. This role offers the opportunity to oversee project construction and store development within a fast-paced, innovative retail environment, supporting the growth and maintenance of over 700 stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage project construction programmes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
• Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets.
• Ensure all stores are built and maintained to the Company’s standards.
• Liaise with developers and project teams to ensure premises meet agreed specifications.
• Survey proposed new sites and provide feedback on leasehold work requirements.
• Advise and assist Divisions with major repairs and maintenance issues.
• Support the export of shopfitting elements from South Africa to other African countries.
• Collaborate with external energy consultants and internal store operations teams on energy conservation initiatives.
• Prepare reports for the Board and relevant committees on energy conservation outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric plus relevant qualifications in project management or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience as a Quality Surveyor, Project Manager, or similar role.
• Experience managing contractors, retail projects, and shopfitting operations.
• Experience with retail project management in Africa, including sourcing local contractors and materials.
• Knowledge of exporting and shipping shopfitting beyond South Africa.
• Awareness of energy conservation options in a retail environment.

Competencies

• Strong understanding of retail project management and contracts administration.
• Knowledge of exporting and shipping shopfitting across borders.
• Awareness and implementation of energy conservation initiatives in retail stores.
• Ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
