About the Program
FlySafair is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Continued Airworthiness Specialist to ensure that all aircraft, components, and maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards, safety requirements, and approved maintenance procedures.
Job Description
- Review work packs prior to handover to the AMO to ensure alignment with aircraft status reports and due items in accordance with approved systems.
- Ensure that no defective or unairworthy parts are installed on any FlySafair aircraft prior to release to service.
- Inspect and accept all incoming materials, including new parts, supplies, and repaired components from contracted service providers.
- Conduct quality technical inspections of aircraft, components, parts, and systems.
- Ensure proper tagging, traceability, and identification of all aircraft parts.
- Perform quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tooling used for aircraft maintenance, including verification of calibration for precision test equipment as specified in maintenance manuals.
- Carry out in-progress inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul activities, and assume responsibility for final inspection and sign-off.
- Review job progress, procedures, and maintenance documentation to ensure compliance with approved data, methods, and regulatory requirements.
- Verify that all incoming parts are accompanied by approved certification and documentation.
- Conduct routine aircraft ramp inspections.
- Ensure accuracy and proper maintenance of the aircraft document library.
- Confirm that all required procedures are completed prior to aircraft release to service.
- Complete and verify all inspection records, maintenance forms, and reports required for authorised release.
- Maintain an efficient filing system for completed work orders and inspection documentation.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and airworthiness standards.
- Document discrepancies in accordance with procedures and submit defect reports relating to unairworthy conditions as per company requirements.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential).
- Trade Certificate as an Aircraft Technician (Essential).
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Licence with B737-400 and B737-800 ratings (Essential).
- Relevant Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6/7) (Advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an AME (Essential).
- At least 1 year of direct experience working with the SACAA (Essential).
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and aviation regulations.
- Familiarity with South African Civil Aviation Regulations and Technical Standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
