About the Program:
Job Description
- Review work-packs before handover to the AMO to ensure alignment with the aircraft Status Report of due items/tasks per SAM.
- Ensure no defective or unairworthy parts are installed on FlySafair aircraft before release to service.
- Inspect and accept all incoming materials, including new parts, supplies, and repaired parts from contracted services.
- Conduct quality technical inspections of aircraft, components, and systems.
- Verify proper tagging and identification of all parts.
- Perform quality and safety inspections on-site equipment and tooling used for aircraft maintenance, including calibration of precision test equipment as outlined in manuals.
- Conduct in-progress and final inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft and components, assuming responsibility for final sign-off.
- Monitor job progress, procedures, and maintenance forms to ensure compliance with approved methods, data, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all incoming parts carry approved documentation and certification.
- Conduct routine aircraft ramp inspections.
- Maintain accuracy and proper management of the aircraft document library.
- Verify that all completed work follows proper procedures before release to service.
- Complete all inspection and maintenance records, reports, and forms required for authorized release.
- Maintain efficient filing of completed work orders and inspection forms.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and airworthiness standards.
- Report discrepancies, defects, or unairworthy conditions following FlySafair procedures.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
- Trade certificate as Aircraft Technician (Essential)
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (AME) with B737-400 and B737-800 ratings (Essential)
- Relevant Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6/7) (Advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an AME (Essential)
- At least 1 year of direct experience working with the SACAA (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and aviation regulations
- Familiarity with South African Civil Aviation regulations and Technical Standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
