Introduction
Based in Jet Park, the Category Manager is responsible for overseeing the full product portfolio, including replenishment, management of DC and retail margins, and selling prices for both DC and drop shipment products. The role also includes managing general administration, promotions, and all daily reporting.

Key Performance Areas

• Achieve budgeted sales targets and gross profit for DC and retail
• Manage inbound supplier service levels and ensure KVI price compliance
• Drive sales, manage expenses, and recoveries in line with the budget
• Monitor and manage GP percentages per category and recoveries from suppliers
• Verify pricing claims for drop shipment and direct suppliers
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers
• Align supplier strategy with DC strategy
• Monitor and manage dog line products
• Maintain accurate data management through AS400
• Liaise with retailers, build relationships, and negotiate deals
• Maintain required stock levels within the warehouse
• Drive sales through innovation, special promotions, and consumer trends
• Manage promotion and advertising for the liquor category
• Facilitate bulk trading deals with bulk customers and negotiate competitive pricing

Minimum Requirements
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• National Senior Certificate (Matric)
• Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Commerce, or Marketing Management recommended
• Strong negotiation and persuasive selling skills
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Ability to build strategic working relationships
• Strong administrative discipline
• Valid Driver’s Licence
