Role Purpose
The Branch Manager is accountable for growing the customer base and revenue of Sanlam Retail Mass by developing and executing the retail branch strategy. This role ensures effective leadership, operational excellence, and a strong service culture that delivers an exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Strategy and Sales Performance
- Develop and execute the retail branch strategy and business plans to achieve growth targets.
- Drive sales delivery and revenue growth across the branch.
- Guide, integrate, and standardise the activities, goals, and objectives of Sales Consultants in line with strategy.
- Establish and maintain a high-performance, client-centric sales and service culture.
Operations and Service Delivery
- Oversee the daily operations and effective management of the retail branch.
- Lead a service delivery ecosystem within and beyond the branch to ensure optimal client experiences.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and risk management standards.
People Management
- Manage all people-related practices for direct reports in collaboration with HR.
- Oversee talent management, performance management, development planning, leave management, and capacity planning.
- Address employee relations matters, including grievances, in line with company policies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and manage key internal and external stakeholders, including Area Managers, Business Owners, activation sites, and community forums.
- Build and maintain effective relationships to support branch growth and brand presence.
Planning and Reporting
- Conduct monthly planning and reporting of sales and service activities.
- Monitor branch performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Education and Experience
- Matric (Grade 12).
- RE1 and RE5 qualifications.
- 120 Wealth Management credits or a tertiary qualification recognised by the FSCA.
- Class of Business accreditation.
- Fully compliant with CPD requirements (current and previous cycles).
- Minimum of 5 years recent industry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven service management experience.
- Insurance sales experience.
- Credit and lending experience.
