Role Purpose
The Branch Consultant is responsible for promoting Sanlam Retail Mass products, growing market share, and delivering excellent in-branch client service through professional financial advice and client-focused engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote Sanlam Retail Mass products through sound financial advice and high-quality client service.
  • Identify opportunities for client optimisation and cross-selling of value-added services.
  • Deliver branch sales targets while ensuring strong client retention.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, quality, and risk management standards.
  • Conduct monthly planning and reporting of sales and service activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Area Managers, Business Owners, activation sites, and community forums.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a sales or marketing role.
  • Experience within insurance or financial services branches is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • RE5 qualification is advantageous.
  • FAIS compliant (Wealth Management) in line with DOFA requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Effective sales and cross-selling strategies with a focus on client optimisation.
  • Understanding of the insurance industry, including regulatory requirements and advisory guidelines.
  • Knowledge of insurance products is advantageous.
  • Target-driven with a persistent focus on results.
  • Strong analytical and information-processing skills.
  • Technologically proficient and comfortable using digital tools.
  • Strong selling, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-organised, adaptable, and eager to learn.
