Role Purpose

As a Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor, your primary objective is to promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products, increase market share, and provide clients with sound financial advice. You will create opportunities for client optimisation, cross-sell value-added products, and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Delivery

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of SRM product offerings.
  • Assess clients’ financial goals and needs, and recommend appropriate products or combinations to achieve them.
  • Inform clients of new products or changes to existing products, adjusting portfolios as necessary.
  • Validate client information according to product and regulatory requirements and submit new business accurately.
  • Conduct due diligence to identify risks and manage appointments effectively, including walk-in clients.

In-branch Client Service and Retention

  • Service and manage all client profiles to ensure retention.
  • Send payment reminders, follow up with clients, and provide ongoing support.
  • Monitor and report on NTUs (clients Not Taken Up), implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Ensure client payment persistency, benefiting both the branch and the client.
  • Understand client risk profiles to proactively identify support needs.
  • Assist clients with alternative payment arrangements and process them correctly.
  • Provide in-branch client service aligned with experience standards, including policy cancellations, query resolution, and escalations.

Quality, Compliance, and Continuous Development

  • Adhere to all compliance and quality standards, keeping registration and CPD points up to date.
  • Identify and report potential fraudulent activities.
  • Maintain and store accurate records of advice and log activities according to regulations.

Monthly Planning and Reporting

  • Report on daily activities using relevant technology platforms.
  • Collate and present data to meet weekly and monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 1-year experience in sales or marketing; insurance branch experience advantageous.
  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • RE5 advantageous.
  • FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements.
  • Class of Business training to be completed within 12 months of employment.
