Role Purpose
The Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor will promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products, increase market share, and provide clients with professional, relevant financial advice. This role is responsible for building sustainable client relationships, driving business growth, and delivering services in a compliant and ethical manner.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Delivery
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of SRM product ranges.
- Understand clients’ financial goals and needs to provide the right product or combination of products.
- Continuously update clients on new products or changes and manage the implications on their portfolios.
- Validate client details in line with product and regulatory requirements.
- Submit new business through the correct channels.
- Conduct due diligence to identify and flag risks.
- Manage daily appointments while capitalising on walk-in or non-appointment clients.
In-Branch Client Service & Retention
- Service and manage all client profiles to ensure retention.
- Send payment reminders, conduct follow-ups, and address client queries.
- Manage clients not taken up (NTUs) and take corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor client payment persistency to benefit both the branch and clients.
- Understand client risk profiles and provide proactive support.
- Guide clients through policy cancellations and provide alternative solutions.
- Resolve client queries or escalate appropriately while providing timely feedback.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Development
- Adhere to compliance and quality standards.
- Maintain personal registration, product knowledge, and CPD points.
- Identify risks and flag potentially fraudulent activities.
- Keep accurate records of advice and log activities per regulations and SOPs.
Monthly Planning & Reporting
- Report daily activities using relevant technology platforms.
- Collate and submit data to meet weekly and monthly reporting deadlines.
- Support the Retail Branch Manager with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 1-year experience in sales or marketing; insurance branch experience advantageous
- RE5 advantageous
- FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements
- Class of Business training to be completed within 12 months of employment
