Dischem Vacancies is building a Beauty Therapist Talent Pool to identify and pre-screen qualified professionals for future opportunities across various stores. This initiative ensures a ready group of skilled Beauty Therapists who can deliver exceptional salon services and uphold the highest standards of customer care.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 2-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum 12 months’ technical/practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment
• Computer literate
• Sound numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• 3-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum 3 years’ technical/practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a professional and outstanding salon experience to customers
• Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures in accordance with Dischem standards
• Promote available skincare and body treatments to drive awareness and service uptake
• Address customer queries, complaints, and compliments professionally and provide feedback when required
• Stay updated on new products, treatments, and service techniques
• Maintain appropriate stock levels according to salon requirements
• Ensure all salon equipment remains hygienic, functional, and compliant with health standards

Competencies

Essential:

• Knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for skin and body treatments
• Strong command of English (written and verbal)
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented with a target-driven approach

Advantageous:

• Experience with soft laser, Bio-Magnetic, microdermabrasion, slimming, and spray tan treatments
• Additional laser or salon equipment training
• Bilingual abilities

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Willing and able to travel to and from stores
• Physically fit to perform massage, facial, and body treatments
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal record
