About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is building a Beauty Therapist Talent Pool for future opportunities across its stores. This initiative aims to create a pre-screened group of qualified beauty professionals who can be considered for upcoming positions within Dis-Chem Beauty Salons. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering professional skincare and body treatments while providing excellent customer service and maintaining high salon standards.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant 2-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 12 months’ technical or practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment
• Computer literate
• Strong numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Relevant 3-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional salon experience for all customers
• Perform treatments such as facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures according to Dis-Chem standards
• Address customer queries, complaints, and compliments while providing appropriate feedback
• Stay updated on new skincare products, treatment methods, and service techniques
• Manage and maintain salon stock levels based on operational requirements
• Ensure all salon equipment is clean, hygienic, and fully operational at all times

Competencies

Essential

• Knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications related to skin and body treatments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Target-driven with the ability to meet deadlines

Advantageous

• Experience with soft laser treatments, Bio-Magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning
• Additional training in laser technology or other advanced salon equipment
• Bilingual communication abilities

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Able to travel to and from the store when required
• Physically fit and capable of performing massage, facial, and body treatments
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
