Job Description

Overview

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple Operations Managers to ensure efficient and professional security operations across all assigned client sites. This role focuses on client liaison, HR and IR matters, fleet and expenses management, investigations, and the deployment of security officers, ensuring that all contractual and site-specific requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Service Management

  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and ensure their needs are consistently met.
  • Monitor service delivery across allocated areas and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Evaluate security performance on all sites and recommend improvements to enhance service quality.

Operational Leadership

  • Manage and supervise Operations Managers and security personnel to ensure performance standards are maintained.
  • Oversee HR-related matters including staff queries and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare detailed reports on incidents as required.
  • Ensure timely submission of employment forms, weekly, monthly, and incident reports to regional management.
  • Liaise daily with Operations and Regional Management to address operational challenges and coordinate resources.

Compliance and Administration

  • Ensure all site operations comply with company policies, procedures, and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System standards.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records and monitor operational processes for efficiency.
  • Ensure all security officers meet contractual and regulatory requirements, including firearm competency where applicable.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • PSIRA Grade A registration.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable personal transport.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the security industry, with a minimum of 5 years in operational security management.
  • Working knowledge of the Firearms Act and competency in firearms for business purposes.
  • Proven staff management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • No criminal record or pending cases.
  • Strong planning, organizational, client liaison, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.
