Role Overview
The Key Account Manager, Solutions plays a critical role in driving customer success through strategic account leadership, service excellence, and long-term retention. This position acts as the primary strategic partner for key customers within DSV Contract Logistics, ensuring superior customer experience, value creation, and sustainable growth through strong collaboration, insight, and accountability.
As a trusted advisor, the role bridges strategy and execution across operations, engineering, finance, and global teams. The Key Account Manager, Solutions represents the voice of the customer within the organization, proactively managing relationships, anticipating needs, resolving issues, and positioning DSV as the partner of choice.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead structured customer engagement through monthly KPI reviews, quarterly business reviews, annual executive meetings, and tactical working sessions.
- Collaborate across DSV’s global network and engage executive sponsors to deliver a consistent, world-class customer experience.
- Develop deep insight into customer business models, challenges, market conditions, and growth strategies, translating these into actionable internal guidance.
- Champion customer satisfaction and retention by proactively monitoring sentiment and addressing risks before escalation.
- Own KPI governance and performance integrity, leading corrective action plans where gaps exist.
- Manage the customer feedback and survey process, ensuring insights are translated into clear resolution and improvement plans.
- Act as the primary coordination point for issue resolution, ensuring efficient and professional communication across stakeholders.
- Drive commercial growth by identifying opportunities for scope expansion, value-added services, and cross-selling across the DSV Group.
- Execute structured customer consultations in line with DSV global standards.
- Oversee commercial lifecycle activities, including rate reviews, contract renewals, scope expansions, renegotiations, RFP retention cycles, and CIP governance.
- Lead first-level customer escalations, supporting the Commercial team on complex or sensitive matters.
Tertiary Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Advanced qualifications such as an MBA will be advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the logistics industry, including transport, warehousing, or a combination thereof.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Key Account Management within the logistics sector.
- Proven track record managing key accounts, preferably within Contract Logistics and the automotive environment.
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills for data analysis, reporting, and customer-facing presentations.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics.
- Working knowledge of supply chain systems, including Warehouse Management and Transport Management Systems.
