Job Description
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for delivering measurable business value through targeted technology and process initiatives aligned with business unit strategies and objectives. This role ensures that business outcomes are achieved through detailed analysis, clear documentation, and effective governance of system and process enhancements. The Senior Business Analyst supports the continuous and optimal operation of Group IT systems, works closely with business and technology stakeholders, and balances local operational autonomy with national consistency across Distribution Centres and retailers. The role also includes mentoring junior analysts and leading cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives.
Key Performance Areas
- Elicit, analyse, and document detailed business requirements and end-to-end process flows
- Align solution designs with Enterprise and Solution Architects to ensure architectural consistency
- Collaborate with Project Managers to deliver accurate scope, timelines, and project outputs
- Develop, review, and execute functional test cases, including support for user acceptance testing and training
- Facilitate solution implementation and provide post-deployment technical support
- Deliver Level 2 support for system and operational issues
- Recommend and implement system and process improvements to enhance performance and sustainability
- Support and engage with vendors on application-related matters and relationship management
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date system and process documentation in a central repository
- Perform ad hoc duties as required by management
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce or an equivalent relevant tertiary qualification
- At least 8 years’ experience in a Business Analyst or similar role within Wholesale and Retail environments
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven Business Analysis experience
- At least 5 years’ Retail industry experience, advantageous
- In-depth knowledge of relevant application stacks and integrated systems
- Sound knowledge of BABOK, Application Lifecycle Management, SDLC, and project methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
