Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Product Strategy:

Define and execute a product strategy aligned with business goals and market demands.
Oversee the creation and implementation of comprehensive product roadmaps.
Drive product innovation by identifying and capitalizing on emerging market opportunities.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership:

Collaborate with design, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive and timely product development.
Ensure compliance with legal and financial regulations across all product initiatives.
Lead and mentor team members, providing coaching, feedback, and supporting career development.

Product Lifecycle Management:

Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch and post-launch optimization.
Make data-driven decisions to enhance product features and improve performance.
Lead product launches, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market readiness.

Stakeholder Management:

Engage with senior leadership to communicate product vision, strategy, and performance.
Manage stakeholder expectations and foster strong relationships across the organization.
Present product updates and strategic initiatives to executive teams and key stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field, or certification in Product Management (e.g., Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner).
5+ years of experience in product management, leading product development initiatives and managing cross-functional teams in Fintech.
3+ years’ experience in financial services, with proven banking or insurance product development experience.

Preferred:

Required Knowledge / Technical Skills:

Extensive experience leading strategic product initiatives and managing complex product lifecycles in Fintech.
Strong understanding of South African market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive analysis within financial services.
Expertise in integrated fintech ecosystems, including APIs and Swagger.
Proven ability to drive product innovation, optimize performance, and align products with business objectives.
Experience mentoring junior product managers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Advantageous Knowledge & Experience:

Experience driving digital transformation and innovation within a Fintech environment.
Knowledge of global Fintech trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory frameworks (POPIA, FSCA, FICA, RICA).
Proven success managing complex stakeholder relationships and influencing executive decisions.
Experience leading cross-functional teams through major product pivots, mergers, or acquisitions.
