Value Vacancies – Forklift Technician
Purpose of the Job
Value Vacancies is looking for a dedicated Forklift Technician to carry out the stripping, cleaning, assembly, servicing, and repair of forklift parts and components. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency within the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect forklifts for general defects prior to repairs
Prepare technical reports detailing repair requirements and scope of work
Identify and compile lists of required spare parts for repairs
Strip forklift components and assemblies
Clean, inspect, and evaluate parts for wear and damage
Reassemble components using approved new and serviceable used parts
Diagnose component and system failures and communicate findings with the team leader and workshop foreman
Accurately record all work performed, spare parts used, and time spent on job cards
Service and repair forklifts in line with OE specifications and maintenance schedules
Provide standby and after-hours breakdown support when required
Maintain acceptable productivity and efficiency levels
Train, monitor, and guide workshop assistants and semi-skilled artisans
Report unsafe working conditions or equipment to team leaders or workshop foremen
Ensure full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
Support additional operational and workshop activities as required
Maintain professional conduct at all times
Comply with company dress code and appearance standards
Maintain daily housekeeping and workshop cleanliness standards
Ensure strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric)
Red Seal Qualification
At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Forklift Technician will be advantageous
