Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
  • 2–3 years’ supervisory or management experience in a retail clothing or fashion environment.
  • Sound knowledge of visual merchandising, promotions, and stock management processes.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales, profit, and shrinkage targets.
  • Availability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

  • Solid commercial understanding with a focus on sales growth, shrink control, and profitability.
  • Competence in stock management and visual merchandising execution.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Profit Performance

  • Drive sales and profitability for the Clothing department.
  • Monitor daily sales performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise sales through effective upselling and promotional activity.

Shrinkage & Loss Prevention

  • Implement and manage shrink control procedures, including fitting room control and stock handling.
  • Ensure adherence to security and loss prevention standards.
  • Identify and escalate shrink risks to relevant management.

Merchandising & Store Standards

  • Execute visual merchandising and promotional guidelines in line with Pick n Pay Clothing standards.
  • Maintain high standards of floor presentation, signage, and displays.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of promotions and markdowns.

Stock Management

  • Oversee stock deliveries, ensuring GRV accuracy and efficient replenishment.
  • Manage stock rotation to ensure correct size availability and seasonal relevance.
  • Identify stock challenges and coordinate markdowns or returns as required.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Ensure consistently high levels of customer service within the Clothing department.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Lead by example with a strong customer-first approach.

People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the Clothing department team.
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance against expectations.
  • Conduct coaching, performance management, and basic disciplinary processes.
  • Identify training needs and support staff development initiatives.
  • Provide regular feedback on attendance, scheduling, and productivity.

Promotions & Pricing

  • Ensure accurate pricing and labelling at all times.
  • Execute promotions and markdowns in line with divisional standards.
  • Provide insights and feedback on product performance.

Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards in all areas.
  • Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly administrative tasks and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with store procedures, legal requirements, and Clothing business policies.
