Job Purpose
The Sales and Marketing Learnership is designed to develop young talent to implement market-driven, differentiated services within the Tavern Class of Trade. The role focuses on building sustainable brand equity, sales volume, market share, competitive advantage, and corporate reputation while gaining hands-on experience in sales, marketing, and customer management.

Key Roles
- Identify and resolve issues in real-time
- Demonstrate resilience while managing flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Apply selling skills to identify customer needs, present SAB’s value proposition, and close sales
- Plan, organise, and prioritise sales activities effectively
Planning and Organising
- Develop and execute specific sales plans with guidance from sales leads
- Execute plans with attention to detail to exceed customer expectations
- Maintain excellent administrative practices
Customer Development
- Manage and build relationships with tavern owners
- Conduct weekly customer calls to strengthen partnerships and resolve issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer master data
- Achieve customer sales and volume targets consistently
- Ensure outlets purchase directly from SAB on a weekly basis
AMPPS Delivery
- Deliver on Availability, Merchandising, Price, Promotions, and Space (AMPPS) objectives
- Monitor outlet stock levels and execute selective merchandising as per In Trade Execution Guidelines (ITEG)
- Negotiate and implement pricing, promotions, and branding communication
- Manage competitive shelf space to maximize brand volume growth
Asset Management
- Ensure governance and compliance of SAB refrigeration and merchandising assets
- Conduct asset verification surveys
- Assist customers with stock management and replenishment to minimize stock-outs
- Monitor stock rotation and quality
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree
- Valid unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license
- Basic computer literacy and Microsoft Office experience
- Knowledge of local area
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Successful completion of a driver’s assessment test
