Job Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is building a Beauty Therapist Talent Pool to support current and future staffing needs across its stores. This talent pool creates access to skilled, pre-screened Beauty Therapists who can deliver professional treatments, promote Dis-Chem Beauty Salon services, and provide exceptional client care as opportunities arise.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant 2-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 12 months’ technical and practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment
• Computer literate with sound numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Relevant 3-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 3 years’ technical and practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent and professional salon experience to all customers
• Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures in accordance with Dis-Chem standards
• Respond to customer queries, complaints, and compliments with professionalism and care
• Stay up to date with new products, treatments, and service techniques
• Manage salon stock levels in line with operational requirements
• Ensure all salon equipment is hygienic, well-maintained, and fully operational at all times

Competencies

Essential

• General knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for skin and body treatments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Team player with excellent customer relationship skills
• Target-driven with the ability to meet deadlines

Advantageous

• Experience with soft laser, bio-magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning
• Training on laser or additional salon equipment
• Bilingual abilities

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Willing and able to travel to and from the store
• Physically fit to perform massages, facial, and body treatments
• South African citizen
• Clear criminal and credit records
