Job Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting for an Assistant Store Manager Pool to support store operations across Gauteng. This role assists the Store Manager with the full operational management of the store, employee supervision, achievement of store targets, effective inventory control, and accurate reporting to support business performance.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum 5 years’ Retail or FMCG experience across all retail departments including Receiving, Administration, Cash Office, and Sales Floor Management
- At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience using Unisolv, SAP, or QlikView
- Previous experience working with Kronos
Advantageous
- Relevant Retail or FMCG qualification
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily human resource administration, including leave management, working hours, and staff scheduling
- Drive performance management processes and ensure adherence to personal development plans
- Ensure daily ordering is completed on time and correct stock levels are maintained
- Control and manage stock flow from receiving to sales floor
- Plan, coordinate, and manage biannual stock takes in collaboration with the Store Admin Manager
- Monitor and manage shrinkage levels
- Handle customer compliments and complaints professionally
- Ensure all customer requests and issues are resolved promptly
- Enforce Dis-Chem merchandising standards across all departments
- Plan, implement, and maintain promotional stock and displays
- Ensure compliance with labelling, pricing, and layout standards
- Support the Store Manager in achieving all store objectives and targets
Competencies
Essential
- Strong retail administration and store management experience including receiving, administration, capturing, till operations, cash office, stock control, sales floor management, and customer service
- Excellent command of the English language
- Basic financial understanding including gross profit, mark-up, and VAT
- Ability to engage effectively with suppliers, management, representatives, and staff
- Strong analytical thinking and time management skills
- Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate teams
- Trustworthy, reliable, and honest

- Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport
- South African citizen
