Pepkor is seeking a driven New Business Consultant to join our team and spearhead growth across retail and fintech channels. This role is ideal for a commercially savvy, self-motivated professional with experience in selling digital value-added services to both formal and informal retail markets.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Identify and research potential clients within the target market
- Generate leads using cold calling, networking, social media, and other tools
- Maintain an updated pipeline of prospective clients in the CRM system
Client Engagement and Relationship Building
- Initiate contact with potential clients via calls, emails, and meetings
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Conduct needs assessments to understand client goals and challenges
Sales Presentations and Demonstrations
- Prepare and deliver tailored sales presentations and proposals
- Demonstrate the value and benefits of our digital solutions
- Address client questions and objections to advance the sales process
Negotiation and Closing
- Develop and present pricing and contract terms aligned with company policies
- Negotiate agreements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
- Close deals and ensure timely signing of contracts
Market Research and Analysis
- Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market conditions
- Analyse market data to identify new business opportunities
- Provide insights to marketing and product teams for strategy improvement
Sales Reporting and Documentation
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and results
- Prepare forecasts and performance reports for management
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions in the CRM system
Collaboration with Internal Teams
- Work closely with delivery and recruitment teams for seamless client service
- Communicate client requirements to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with marketing to align sales efforts with campaigns
Goal Setting and Achievement
- Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Continuously evaluate personal performance and seek improvement
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in sales or business development
- Proven track record of achieving targets and generating new business
- Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel if required
- Experience in payments and retail industry advantageous
